The UK's Money Champion 2010
Leading personal finance website, www.bettermoneyadvice.co.uk is launching a campaign to discover the nation's Money Champion 2010.

WINDSOR, UK December 11, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- From politicians to money experts, trade associations to captains of industry, BetterMoneyAdvice.co.uk wants to know who you UK think has had and will have the biggest influence on your finances as we go in to 2010.

Editor's and contributors to the website have selected a short-list of candidates and are looking for members of the public to vote for their choice before announcing the winner of the Money Champion 2010 award in January.

The shortlist of candidates includes the Chancellor Alistair Darling, Tory leader David Cameron, Lib Dems Shadow Chancellor Vince Cable and Bank of England Governor Mervyn King, as well as less-likely, but no less influential candidates such as Peter Bolton-King, Chief Executive of the National Association of Estate Agents, Money Saving Expert Martin Lewis and Martin Gahbauer, Senior Economist for Nationwide.

Commenting on the launch, Dale Lovell, Editor and Publisher of BetterMoneyAdvice.co.uk said;

"We canvassed the opinions of our team to come up with a worthy shortlist of candidates whom we think have considerable influence over the UK economy in some way or another and are likely to exert further influence going into 2010. While the usual suspects of power wielding politicians and bank governors are included we also wanted to select others, whose work, often behind the scenes exerts continued influence over our personal finances and could influence our recovery from the recession throughout 2010.

BetterMoneyAdvice.co.uk highlights the work of candidates such as Peter Bolton-King, Chief Executive of the National Association of Estate Agents who is spearheading a campaign urging the government to extend the 'holiday on Stamp Duty' as well as the likes of Vince Cable MP, who is urging his fellow MPs to put pressure on the banks to pay back unfair bank charges, as examples of people who could help improve our finances in 2010 and become Money Champions.

Continues Mr. Lovell; "Many people may not agree with our shortlist so we urge the nation to vote and send in their comments so that we can find the right choice for the award of Money Champion 2010."

The 10 Nominations for the Most Influential Person to Our Finances 2010 are:
